Schedule A Little Me Time

Schedule A Little Me Time

Are you finding it hard to find time for yourself? Does your day-to-day routine include taking care of your children, husband, and working a full time job, basically making sure everyone else’s needs are met. What many of us fail to realize that taking a little me time is one of the most important things you can do for your family, realizing your health and happiness are important to the whole family.

Make an appointment with yourself today for some me time. It doesn’t require a lot of time, money, or planning. All it requires is a commitment to yourself and realizing that you are worth it and deserve it.

Take 20 minutes to day to rejuvenate your mind, body, style, and spirit. Below are some tips to renew and refresh when you’re feeling overwhelmed and underappreciated.

Listen to Music

Music can instantly change your mood. It is a good pick me up when you are feeling a little down. Try listening to music as you are preparing dinner or just lying down or relaxing. Load up that MP3 player with your favorite soothing or energizing music.

Soak A Way The Stress

Taking a nice shower is so therapeutic to the soul. Add a few scented candles (Brazilian Jackfruit is my favorite) and lather the body with an exfoliating shower gel and how about adding some rose petals to the water as well.

Manicure and Pedicure

Pay some extra attention to your hands and feet today. You don’t have to run to the salon to spend extra money you don’t have. This is something you can do at home. Check out the Happy Foot Collection and hand treatment and treat your self to a lavender foot spa and tangerine lychee manicure. Have dad take the kids to the park or movies and schedule a lifestyle gathering (spa party) at home with your girlfriends.

Light a Candle
Aromatherapy feels good to the soul. Scented candles are an inexpensive way to relieve some stress. Soothing aromas can help reduce that overwhelming feeling and create a relaxing atmosphere. (Zanzibar Girls Collection is spicey and relaxing)

Exercise
You don’t have to get all sweaty or have some vigorous routine, a 30-minute walk in the morning can help boost your energy and sharpen you mentally, and decrease stress. Enjoy what Mother Nature has to offer as you soothe your soul.

Taking a few extra minutes each week to indulge yourself doesn’t just feel good; it's good for you. Reducing stress keeps you healthy and happy. It improves your mood and much more. The key is to schedule a little “me time” just as you would a regular appointment, so it becomes part of your everyday lifestyle instead of a guilty pleasure.
